Buenos Aires Day Tours

  • Buenos Aires Private City Tour

    Highlights

    • Visit the historic Plaza de Mayo and the house of government, the old San Telmo neighbourhood, the immigrant port of La Boca, the stately neighbourhood of Recoleta, Eva Peron's grave and walk down Av. Corrientes until you get to the Obelisco.

If you are looking for an original tour of Buenos Aires, look no further. Our guide from Argentina On The Go will bring you around the city as if you were a local, visiting the main attractions that porteños enjoy every day. You will see the city from the comfort of our private transport where you will be able not only to get off at the spots that most interest you but also to ask our knowledgeable guide anything you want about the city and its inhabitants. The main attractions you will visit are: the Plaza de Mayo where you will see the government building (called the "Pink House") as well as learning about the history of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo and their fight against the dictatorship. The neighbourhood of "La Boca", the famous first port of Buenos Aires, where the first immigrants landed and brought with them their customs, language and gestures to create the unique and multicultural personality that characterises Argentines today. And since we porteños believe in confronting city distances on foot, you will be able to walk around the old neighbourhood of San Telmo and lose yourself among its charming cobbled streets to visit the antique market and stop for a coffee in one of the traditional porteños cafes typical of the area. When we get to Av. Corrientes (the street that never sleeps) and see the Obelisco, you'll have the opportunity to eat a slice of pizza "de dorapa", or standing up like a native, in one of the typical hundred year-old pizzas joints, then leaf through some books in one of the many bookshops that line that street on Corrientes. Once back in our private transport, we will head over to the neighbourhood of Recoleta, one of the most noble areas of Buenos Aires, to walk around the magnificent Plaza Francia, which has an artisan market on weekends, as well as visiting the historic Iglesia del Pilar, the old friary of the Franciscan monks of Recoleta, and the famous Recoleta cemetery to find the historic tomb of Evita Perón.

  • Day Ranch with Argentina On The Go

    Highlights

    • Enjoy a day in the country on a typical Argentine ranch where you will ride horses, feast on a traditional lunch made from local produce, and relax afterwards in the beautiful countryside.

Argentina is without a doubt a country of rural traditions and the idea of the countryside means more than just a plot of land to an Argentine. Many of the traditions and activities that are practiced by the country dwellers are inherited from their "gaucho" ancestors. Accompanied by our private transport and guide, this full day tour will bring you an hour and a half outside the city of Buenos Aires to immerse you in the life of a typical Argentina ranch, or "estancia". On the journey, our guide will tell you about the traditions, activities and stories of those who live in the countryside: the legends, horse breeding and dressage, the importance of mate in daily life and the different ways to prepare a good Argentine "asado", or barbeque. Upon arrival at the private Candelaria ranch, you will be greeted by your hosts, who will offer you a range of activities: from a ride on a traditional "criollo" horse, a tour of the estancia with the dogs of the ranch, to a day of "light" labour in the field for the more daring, or a "siesta" after lunch for those who want to rest the Argentine way, listening to the sounds of the country. Eat lunch beneath the trees if the weather allows, where you will taste typical empanadas and dulce de leche, as well as a specially designed menu by the estancia's cook which highlights the simplicity and freshness of the flavours of the Argentine kitchen. Of course a delicious selection of local wines will accompany the meal, uniting all the tastes of Argentina. At the end of the day you will be brought back to the capital and dropped at your hotel.
