SALTA & JUJUY

Located in the Lerma Valley, Salta is the capital city of the Argentine province bearing the same name. Its elevation is 1187m above sea level, set picturesquely underneath the hills of 20 de Febrero and San Bernardo.

This natural framing, Hispanic architecture, narrow streets, plazas and monuments all create a colonial spirit that makes Salta one of the most unique cities in the entire country.

Northwest Argentina can be explored from Salta as it is strategically located between two main routes, the famous Calchaquies Valley (Salta) and the spectacular "Quebrada de Humahuaca" (Jujuy).

How to get there

By Bus

The Salta bus terminal (Av Hipolito Irigoyen 339) is just a few blocks from downtown and receives services from most major cities and from other tourist destinations in Chile and Bolivia ( San Pedro de Atacama, La Paz, etc.).

By Plane

Martin Miguel de Guemes International Airport is located 7 km from the city center. There are regular services or taxis from the airport.

This terminal connects this province directly with Cordoba, Puerto Iguazu, Mendoza and Buenos Aires. Airlines flying to and from the airport are:
