Distinction of the Tourism Sustainability Guidelines program belonging to the Argentine Tourism Quality System

Traveling responsibly entails attitudes and choices that show respect for the local communities, their culture, economy and environment, while creating some kind of benefit for them as well. Traveling responsibly results in a positive impact, and ensures both the sustainability of our footprint and the chance to continue doing what we most like, which is traveling.

In Argentina On The Go we embrace sustainable practices that contribute to the healthy development of the tourism industry in our country.

OUR SUSTAINABLE COMMITMENT

COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

We foster a respectful and responsive environment when working with the local communities, and endeavor to create opportunities for off-the-beaten-path destinations throughout the country.

When selecting local operators, we opt for those who live in the area, thus generating genuine jobs and straightforward economic benefits through the organization of our trips. When designing the itineraries, we encourage travelers to include more unconventional routes with two goals in mind: preventing the overcrowding of the more popular sites and supporting the regional economies.

In Argentina On The Go we are fully aware of the key role of education in the future of our society. That’s why, since 2014, we have sponsored “Escuela Monseñor Tomás Segundo Cruz”, a rural school in El Volcán, a small village in San Juan province. We do this under the general coordination of APAER, a civil association of rural schools sponsors that exposes the reality of these remote establishments, while contributing with grants, projects and support, both in order to discourage the uprooting of the most needed and thus guarantee equal opportunities for everyone.

ENVIRONMENT COMMITMENT

In Argentina On The Go, we pledge to safeguard the environment by establishing sustainable guidelines that will offset the impact of our activity.

We also promote respect and care for nature with every single trip we craft, by looking to make a positive impact on the natural settings through the activities and routes we choose, by raising our travelers’ awareness on how to mitigate their environmental footprint with their own actions, and by opting for local operators that comply with sustainable guidelines and practices.

In order to further compensate for the environmental impact created by our activity, in Argentina On The Go we make a monetary contribution to REFORESTARG and Bayka (two organizations whose aim is to preserve and regenerate the biodiversity of our Patagonian native forests), thus boosting the development of the regional economies and encouraging community building among those who share the same vision. In addition to this financial support, in Argentina On The Go we pledge to plant one tree per every confirmed traveler.

OUR COMMITMENT

We train and communicate to raise awareness, also promoting sustainable tourism practices in the experiential aspects of our trips.

The sustainable policies we uphold cover the complete work circuit, and so does the creation of practices and uses that advocate sustainability, not only behind doors, but also through our end product.

Our commitment is not to the environment alone, but also to ourselves and to those who trust their trip to our team. Beyond the funding to organizations that endeavor to protect the environment and the local communities, Argentina On The Go pursues its own sustainable goals through the following guidelines:

Reducing the use of plastic throughout the work circuit.
Minimizing the carbon footprint generated by non-renewable energy sources throughout the value chain.
Upholding respect, coherence, transparency and gender equity in our workplace and throughout the value chain.
Conducting constant in-house training on the good practices of sustainability in our industry.
Generating commitment on the suppliers and operators’ end, with a view to reinforcing these guidelines.
Incorporating technological innovations that will enhance the sustainable development of our industry.
