You will have the day free to enjoy any of the self-guided hikes. We recommend you to do the trekking to Laguna de los Tres. The trailhead begins at the end of Avenida San Martín, where the urban fabric of El Chaltén ends. During the first hour of hiking, the slope is somewhat steep, until you enter the valley of the Del Salto stream towards El Chaltén (Fitz Roy massif). The Ñires begin to be more and more numerous around the trail and after about an hour and a half of walking you reach a natural rocky viewpoint well signposted, with a sign that allows you to interpret the mountainous and glacial landscape that lies in front of the traveler. The trail continues up the Arroyo Del Salto to the drainage area of the Madre and Hija lagoons. About 4 hours after leaving El Chaltén, you arrive first at the Poincenot Base Camp (one of the most popular campsites in the National Park) and after crossing the Río Blanco, at the Río Blanco Base Camp (for climbers only). From here the road continues with a steep slope of approximately 400 meters up to Laguna Tres, which will require more than an hour of effort. The trail ends at the old moraine ridge (huge arch-shaped formation that currently contains the lagoon, formed by the action of glacial advance and retreat), with an extraordinary view of the lagoon and the Tres glacier. This is the closest view of the granite wall of El Chalten (the Fitz Roy massif) and its peripheral needles. Descending down the moraine, you can continue along a trail around the lagoon to its mouth, and at the end of the trail you can see the desolate Sucia Lagoon and its hanging glaciers.

At the appropriate time, we will transfer you from your hotel in El Chalten to the airport in El Calafate.
